Program Description:

Some call it the original CI (continuous Insulation) exterior wall cladding. Exterior Insulation Finish Systems (EIFS) CSI Spec Section 07240 is a wall cladding type that puts the effective insulation media on the outermost plane of the exterior wall assembly, and then covers it with a thin acrylic modified film that keeps weight low and defends the insulation from degradation by water, sunlight and impact. Effective design, specification and implementation of EIFS requires thoughtful planning and careful installation.

Learning Objectives:

  • We're going to look at product, design, specs, building code and installation practices that have worked, those that did not and how to best insure success for your next project that utilizes EIFS.




Biography: 

Brent's relationship with EIFS began in the late 1970's while working as an architectural assistant for a large CA retailer considering utilizing EIFS on a project. Fast forward to 1985 when he went to work as a technical sales person for Dryvit Systems Inc. and remained at Dryvit until his retirement from that company in 2019 (35 years). He has held a variety of positions at that company from technical sales to product development. He has served on various technical committees in the EIFS industry and continues serving the industry as the proprietor of EIFS Assist - A Consultancy. Our aim is to support excellence in designing and installing EIFS for both new and retrofit of building exteriors.
