Join us for our Dinner Program from 6:00 - 8:00PM on June 17, 2026 at Zio Fraedos in Pleasant Hill!

We're diving into "From Floor to Ceiling: Understanding Moisture, Mold & Building Performance" presented by Bill Weber & Madeline Mesa of AVELAR.

Moisture problems in buildings rarely start with one major failure — they often begin with small construction details that are overlooked during design or installation. This presentation explores how homes and buildings function as complete systems, from the foundation to the roof, and how factors like ventilation, insulation, vapor control, and roofing assemblies can directly impact moisture intrusion and mold growth. Attendees will gain practical insight into how building science principles can improve durability, indoor air quality, and long-term performance while helping avoid costly remediation issues.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand how moisture moves through a building and why problems that begin below the structure often impact the entire building envelope over time.
  • Learn how seemingly minor construction oversights — including ventilation and insulation errors — can contribute to long-term fungal growth and moisture accumulation.
  • Explore how proactive building science strategies during design and construction can help prevent expensive repairs, mold remediation, and indoor air quality concerns.

*Early bird pricing ENDS June 10th - price goes up $20 per ticket after that! Get your ticket early to avoid the increase
